Or call (804) 282-2620Back by popular demand, this warm-hearted comedy captured the Pulitzer Prize and tells the story of the surprising friendship that grows between the tiny yet tenacious Daisy Werthan, an independent Jewish widow, and Hoke, the soft-spoken yet proud black chaffeur hired by her son after she crashes another car. At first, Daisy’s stubbornness and cultural prejudices cause much friction, but Daisy, Hoke and her son, Boolie, grow over the span of 25 years, during the tidal waves of change in the American South. We watch as these two seemingly very different people discover how much they truly do have in common. Suggested for ages 12 and up*
